The NCAPD is a recognized component group of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. The two organizations partner for annual dues collection procedures, with the AAPD taking a lead role in the process. AAPD Active and Affiliate members are invited to join the NCAPD at the time AAPD dues are paid.

The AAPD sends a paper and e-invoice on July 1st annually, a second e-invoice in mid-August, a second paper on September 1st, and a final invoice in October. Annual dues are $150 for Active members, $75 for Affiliate members, while Retired and Student members pay no dues. A delinquent letter is sent in November with phone calls and suspension for unpaid members in December. The NCAPD suspension of membership mirrors that of the AAPD.

It should be noted that dentists are not required to join the AAPD to be members of the NCAPD. In such cases, the qualifications for membership are spelled out below, along with application forms and an explanation of the application process. Please note: Active or Student Members of the AAPD are not required to complete the forms below. They are applicable only for non-AAPD Members.

Established AAPD members moving to our state can join the NCAPD by sending an e-mail to our Executive Administrative Secretary Sarah Howard at [email protected], giving us the contact information to be included in our E-Membership Directory and List-Serve.

Recent program graduates, please note: If you are/were a Student member of the AAPD and have decided to practice in North Carolina, we will add you to the E-Membership Directory and List-Serve send your preferred professional contact and e-mail information to Sarah Howard via e-mail ([email protected]). You will pay no dues until you are billed in the next AAPD dues cycle.
